THE 1960s
In the North, there was the Fumigation Team under the Plant Protection Department – Ministry of Agriculture. In the South, there was the Fumigation Team under Plant Hygiene Division – Crop Protection Department – Saigon Agricultural General Department. After 1975, both Fumigation Teams in the North and the South were put under the control of the Plant Protection Department and continued to fumigate exported goods until 1985 when they were upgraded into Fumigation Company I – Hai Phong and Fumigation Company II – Ho Chi Minh City.

DECEMBER 1993
Implementing the State policy on separating service and trading businesses from State-owned enterprises, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry decided to merge fumigation businesses under the Plant Protection Department into Vietnam Fumigation Company (VFC) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry. This was a turning decision to focus resources for business development. With the support from major changes in the State policy and its own efforts, VFC has held a dominant role in providing pest control service for all the volume of rice and farm produce exported by Vietnam in the world and constructed and maintained a nationwide service network.
With the determination in intensifying its traditional business activities and expanding in the agricultural sector, since 1994, VFC started its agro-chemical import business. VFC became the distributor for world leading agro-chemical companies such as Zeneca, Ciba, Russel, Aventis, Kumiai, FMC. - 1998
TWO MAIN FIELDS
VFC has two independent fields, namely fumigation sevice and trade in agro-chemicals. Fumigation service follows international integration, focusing on the latest fumigation technology such as J-System, CSIROFLO and SIROCIRC with Phosphine in liquid form, IPM; becoming membership to professional pest management organizations including International Marine Fumigation Organization, NPMA - National Pest Management Association of USA. Also, in 1998, VFC is selected to be project coordinator regarding alternatives of Methyl Bromide in fumigation in order to protect Ozone layer managed by United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). Fumigation staff is well-trained in accordance with current international standards in USA, England and Australia.
Apart from fumigation service for import-export and preserved goods, VFC starts to improve pest control service in community: Pestcontrol at industrial parks, hotels, restaurants, residential areas and public hygiene, termite extermination service with brand VFC-PestMaster. This is a new service with great potentials in Vietnam with the aim to meet requirements of living in clean, safe and hygienic community.

IN 1999
VFC starts to equitize agricultural chemical department in order to create an effective mechanism in conformity with Vietnam agricultural development speed. Up to late 2001, VFC completes the equitization for the whole company, becoming the first joint stock company in fields of fumigation and agro-chemicals.
In respect of agro-chemical trade, keeping space with agricultural development of Vietnam-one rice production center of the world, VFC has established a rather perfect product range with main products of prestigious brand-names such as Nominee herbicide, Anvil fungicide etc. VFC is proud of being a leading distributor in Vietnam for products of Syngenta, Kumia, FMC, Sumitomo Nippon Soda, Nihon Nohyaku etc. and keeps developing more new products in conformity with new requirements in the market.
One more progess of VFC is to put chemical processing and packing factory in Le Minh Xuan IP into operation since 2002 with the aim to facilitate the marketing of own products. . - 2004
IN 1994
After preparation time, VFC joins in the joint-ventured project for Novotel Nha Trang Hotel. Till 2006, VFC determines to build its headquarter in VFC Tower. These are big real estate projects although property is not traditional business of the company. However, with strong determination of Steering Committee and tenacious efforts by staff of VFC, some satisfactory results have been seen in the overall difficult situation in 2008-2009. VFC Tower is put into operation from September 2008 and the hotel is successfully inaugurated in October 2008.

Branch network has been set-up in all big cities and ports of Vietnam including Hanoi,Son la, Hai Phong, Vinh, Da nang, Quy Nhon, Nha Trang, Daklak, Dalat, Binh Duong,Dong Nai, Moc Hoa, Can Tho,Soc Trang,Dong Thap, An Giang, Kien Giang with the headquarter in HCMC.
